Synthetic diamond is very sensitive to magnetic waves at room temperature and can detect a moving car 300 meters away. Element Six researchers intend to use diamonds to read electromagnetic waves from the sun to pinpoint the location on Earth. If implemented, this technology can greatly reduce the need for GPS satellites; GPS positioning usually requires satellite signals to be transmitted to the Earth and then transmitted to the car navigation system.

With the development of synthetic diamond navigation technology, unmanned vehicles will also become a reality, and the precise positioning and navigation of diamonds is safer than that of drivers with subjective human factors.
However, the real implementation and application of this technology may take several years. Currently, researchers are further improving the magnetic sensitivity of synthetic diamonds, which is intended for use as an alternative to MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) sensors. A helmet-mounted, hand-held scanner made of diamond material can quickly and easily detect the patient's body, instead of placing the patient in the instrument tunnel as MRI instruments do.
Element Six is ​​currently focused on the development and manufacture of diamonds for cutting tools in the heavy industry, and is part of the diamond mining giant De Beers.
