The application rate of the base fertilizer should be determined based on various factors such as the target yield of garlic and the amount of fertilizer required per unit area. The base fertilizer should be based on organic fertilizers such as ring fertilizer, chicken manure, duck manure, manure, compost, and cake fertilizer. Each mu of land is applied with 1000-1500 kg of organic fertilizer of Suichang bio-soybean meal, 3000 kg of pig fat or 5000 kg of manure, and 50-100 kg of cake fertilizer such as cottonseed cake. The chemical fertilizer applied with the organic fertilizer as the base fertilizer usually has superphosphate, diammonium phosphate, potassium nitrate or ternary compound fertilizer. Apply 75 kg of standard nitrogen fertilizer, 50 kg of superphosphate, 30 kg of potassium sulfate or 15 kg of potassium chloride per mu, or 65 kg of 15% of three-element compound fertilizer with NPK, and 1.5 kg of zinc sulfate.

The application method of the base fertilizer is generally to apply half of the organic fertilizer before the cultivated land, evenly spread on the surface of the soil, combine the cultivated land, and turn the fertilizer into the ground; the other half concentrates on the ditch and makes the fertilizer, The soil is mixed and then sown. Nitrogen fertilizer should be applied 2/3 as base fertilizer and 1/3 as top dressing. Most of the phosphorus and potassium fertilizers are applied as base fertilizers. Phosphate fertilizer, whether it is superphosphate or calcium magnesium phosphate, should be mixed with organic fertilizer, preferably shallow, concentrated or layered. It can be applied before the cultivated land, and the other part can be applied when the garlic is cultivated after ploughing, or applied to the ground 6~10 cm after the soil preparation to facilitate the absorption and utilization of the seedlings. Potassium fertilizer can be used in the arable land, with the arable land, and can be turned into the ground.
