The development and production of child safety seats has actually passed more than half a century. However, at present, the use rate of car child safety seats in China is less than 1% of the country, and the occupancy rate of Guangzhou car owners is only 47%, which is less than half. The growth rate of motor vehicles in our country has surpassed that of many developed countries, but the use of child safety seats has not been proportionate to it. At 2.6 times that of the United States, traffic accidents have become the first cause of death for children under the age of 14. With the rapid growth of the number of private cars in China, the “tragedy” in the car is also accelerating. The safety status of Chinese children's car ride is worrying.

On July 1, 2012, China introduced the first National Standard for Vehicle occupant restraint systems in reference to European standards. This is China's first mandatory national standard for children and car safety. This standard specifies the terms and definitions of the restraint system for motor vehicle child occupants, the requirements for installation and fixation on the vehicle, the structure of the restraint system, and the performance requirements and test methods for the restraint system assembly and its component parts.

The "standard" has different regulations for the occupants of different weight ranges. For example, buckles for adult safety belt buckles and child restraint systems cannot be used universally. Children should not use adult safety belts. In addition, all forward restraint systems must be equipped with an anti-impedance restraint device in order to prevent the child's body from slipping or risking due to a collision or the child's own movement.
