China successfully developed 100,000 old oil well recovery

Combining information technology and oil recovery technology, after eight years of research and development, China successfully launched a smart oil-fishing machine suitable for the redevelopment and utilization of “low-yield, low-permeability, low-pressure” reservoirs. About 100,000 old oil wells in China ushered in the “second spring” .

On December 13, Huazhong University of Science and Technology reported that Chen Xuedong, the deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Digital Manufacturing Equipment and Technology, and Suzhou Dayi Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. successfully launched the "low-yield, low-permeability, low-pressure" reservoir. A smart oil rig that is redeveloped and utilized.

“Intelligent oil slicker uses unique design and information technology to connect, and can understand the underground condition in time. It is a major improvement to the original oil production equipment, ensuring greater economic and environmental benefits.” Senior oil and gas field development experts in China's petroleum industry Zeng Xingqi, vice chairman of the Institute of Management Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said.

The intelligent oil rig of Chen Xuedong's team can automatically develop an optimal working system and adaptively realize three functions of oil recovery, logging and sand mining. Its key technology has been applied for 18 technical invention patents, and it has obtained 4 authorizations and 11 publications, forming a system patent protection chain.

“Intelligent oil skimmers are of great significance for the mining of 'three lows' reservoirs, filling the gap in modern oil production technology in this field,” said Xiao Wensheng, director of the Technical Committee of China National Oil Production Equipment Engineering Technology Center.

Yanchang Oilfield in Shaanxi Province has a history of 100 years of development and is a typical representative of China's “low-yield, low-permeability, low-pressure” oilfields. In March 2012, there was no production due to no liquid discharge and 10 workovers.

On September 1, 2012, the Chen Xuedong team installed a smart oil rig in the 蟠2038 well for testing. The installation was operated for 60 hours, and the well was successfully unblocked and re-discharged. The intelligent oil-splitting machine successfully changed a “dead well” into a “living well” and achieved the goal of increasing production, energy saving and environmental protection.

According to experts, at present, China's three major oil companies (PetroChina, Sinopec, Yanchang Oilfield) are similar to the number of wells in the No. 2038 well, and the number of open wells and ultra-low production wells is about 100,000. At the same time, more than 60% of China's newly discovered oil geological reserves are low-permeability oil fields. The remaining crude oil in developed oil fields is under pressure, low in output and high in water content. It is of great significance to promote intelligent oil dispensers.

"70% of the crude oil in China's already developed oil fields has not been mined. If the oil recovery rate is increased by 1%, it can increase the production of crude oil by about 200 million tons," said Wan Renqi, a resource expert at China National Petroleum Corporation.
