4 related to the carbon particles in the electrolyte. When the electrolysis temperature is high, the content of carbon particles in the electrolyte is increased. When the content of the carbon is increased, not only the conductivity of the electrolyte is reduced, but also the wettability of the electrolyte to the Al2O3 crystal can be reduced, thereby also causing precipitation of alumina.

5 related to additives in the electrolyte. The influence of additives on the conductivity of cryolite can be divided into two categories; the addition of lithium fluoride and sodium chloride to the electrolyte can improve the conductivity of the electrolyte, in particular, the effect of lithium fluoride is significant. Addition of calcium fluoride and magnesium fluoride to the electrolyte can reduce the conductivity of the electrolyte, but they can make a good separation of carbon residue, reduce the content of carbon particles in the electrolyte, make the electrolyte conductivity better, indirectly increase the conductivity.
