On the occasion of the New Year's Day, on behalf of the permanent establishment of the China Machine Tool Industry Association, I would like to extend my wishes and sincere greetings to all members of the industry, enterprises and institutions. I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to all leaders and people from all walks of life who care about and support the development of China's machine tool industry!

In 2013, it was a year in which China's machine tool industry was further tested. The background of global economic rebalancing and China's economic restructuring has continued to have a profound impact on the development environment of China's machine tool industry. The market environment for industrial development and other growth factors continue to undergo significant changes. These have brought new pressures and challenges to industrial development.

In 2013, it was also a year in which the pace of transformation and upgrading of China's machine tool industry was significantly accelerated. After more than two years of continuous downward pressure, we have a deeper understanding of the long-term and arduous nature of transformation and upgrading. The level of understanding and mental outlook of industry players facing environmental changes has been quietly changing, from the beginning to passively cope with change, and gradually to actively adapt to change, until the change is actively grasped. Conscious adjustment and positive change have become the active choice of most industry players.

There is no doubt that we will face new positive changes in 2014, because the Third Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee and the just-concluded Central Economic Work Conference tell us that 2014 will be recorded in the annals of history as the first year of a comprehensive round of comprehensive deepening reforms.
