According to the website of the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Environmental Protection announced today the completion of the water pollution prevention and control tasks in the industrial agglomeration area of ​​the Water Pollution Prevention Action Plan in 2017. According to the public notice, a total of 208 provincial-level and above industrial agglomeration areas of 22 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps did not complete the tasks on time.

The "Water Pollution Prevention Action Plan" (referred to as "Water Ten") clearly stipulates that before the end of 2017, the industrial agglomeration area should be built with centralized sewage treatment facilities and automatic online monitoring devices, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, Yangtze River Delta, Pearl River Delta, etc. The area is completed one year ahead of schedule; if it is not completed within the time limit, all construction projects that increase water pollutant discharge will be suspended and approved, and the qualifications of the park will be revoked in accordance with relevant regulations.

According to the materials submitted by the provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), as of the end of January 2018, there were 2,356 industrial and economic zones in the provinces and above, including economic and technological development zones, high-tech industrial development zones and export processing zones. Among them, 2,205 were built as centralized sewage treatment facilities according to regulations, and 2,148 installed automatic online monitoring devices, with completion rates of 94% and 91% respectively. The nine provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanxi, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shandong, Guangxi, and Sichuan have all completed their tasks. A total of 208 provincial-level and above industrial clusters in the remaining 22 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps did not complete the tasks on time.

The Ministry of Environmental Protection will publicize the details on its official website today, and the publicity period will be from February 24 to March 24, 2018. During the publicity period, units, groups and individuals are welcome to supervise and report the authenticity of public information through letters, 12369 environmental report hotline, fax or email. Once the report information is verified, it will be handled according to the law.
