An encoder is a device that compiles or converts a signal or data into a signal that can be used to communicate, transmit, and store. The encoder converts the angular displacement or linear displacement into electrical signals. The former is called the encoder and the latter is called the encoder.

Common faults and analysis:

1, the encoder itself fails:

It means that the components of the encoder itself have failed, causing it to produce and output the correct waveform. In this case, replace the encoder or repair its internal components.

2, encoder connection cable failure:

This kind of failure has the highest probability of occurrence and is often encountered during maintenance. It should be a priority factor. Usually the encoder cable is open circuited, short-circuited or poorly connected. In this case, replace the cable or connector. Special attention should also be paid to whether it is due to the tightness of the cable and the looseness caused by loosening or disconnection. In this case, the cable must be clamped.

3, encoder +5V power drop:

It means that the +5V power supply is too low and usually cannot be lower than 4.75V. The reason for the low power supply is that the power supply is faulty or the power transmission cable has a large resistance and the loss is caused. In this case, the power supply must be overhauled or the cable must be replaced.

4. Absolute encoder battery voltage drop:

This kind of fault usually has a clear alarm. In this case, the battery needs to be replaced. If the memory of the reference position is lost, the reference point must be returned.

5, the encoder cable shield is not connected or off:

This will introduce interference signals, make the waveform unstable, affect the accuracy of communication, must ensure reliable welding and grounding shielded wire.

6, encoder installation loose:

This kind of failure will affect the accuracy of the position control, resulting in an overshoot of the positional deviation between stop and movement, and even a servo system overload alarm may be generated immediately after power on. Please pay special attention.

7, grating pollution This will reduce the signal output amplitude, must use a cotton wool stained with anhydrous alcohol to gently clean the oil.
