The classification of bauxite ore and the removal of harmful impurities (such as Fe2O3, K2O, Na2O, MgO, CaO, etc.) directly affect the type and quality of refractory materials. It should be pointed out that China's current "bauxite ore technical conditions" YB/T5057-1993 (2005) only stipulates the alumina-silica ratio (Al2O3: SiO2), Al2O3, Fe2O3 quality indicators for various grades of bauxite ores ( %) is suitable for the production of bauxite consisting of hydrated alumina and silica, such as alumina, corundum abrasives, and high-aluminum cement. However, it is difficult for the exploration of refractory refractory bauxite. In order to meet the requirements of different grades of refractory materials, bauxite needs to be graded to control the range of Al2O3 content in order to stabilize the chemical composition and mineral composition. This is a prerequisite for the manufacture of high-quality refractory materials. The foreign standards also require the fluctuating range of Al2O3 content in refractory raw materials to be controlled from 1% to 2%. However, China's refractory raw materials have never reached this target, which is often as high as 5% to 10%, which considerably restricts the quality of refractory products in China. The improvement is also one of the reasons for the low service life of China's high-alumina linings.
