The era of lean manufacturing in China's manufacturing industry is coming

First, what is lean development
Lean R&D is a research and development method aiming at lean. It integrates three core technologies of technology innovation, co-simulation and three-dimensional quality design to achieve a leap-forward improvement in product quality.

In the development of complex products, how to meet the customer's most concerned product features and performance indicators is a complex system engineering. Before the development of lean technology, various quality data such as product functions and performance indicators are scattered among various documents or systems. After the design task is released, it is difficult for the chief designer of the product to dynamically grasp the subsystems and components. The design meets the overall function and performance indicators and the degree of impact. Taking the complex product systems in the aerospace field (such as launch vehicles, satellites, etc.) as an example, the quality data of each component in the design, process, production and assembly process of each subsystem and component affects the quality index of its final product. Often it is not known, so quality indicators such as functional and performance indicators of the final product are unpredictable. There is currently no software that can solve this problem systematically. Existing CAX/PDM systems also do not provide quality data integration capabilities.

For the first time, Lean Development systematically integrates various product quality information (such as geometric information, physical information, system reliability, etc.) with quality data bus (QBUS), fully correlates the physical world with the digital world, and realizes both. The precise mapping between the two provides enterprises with an enterprise-level product digital prototype development environment. The quality design idea of top-level traction and system expression is realized, and the quality of research and development of a complex product (all technical indicators) can be systematically, clearly, stably, dynamically and completely grasped in the hands of designers, so that the quality and reliability of products Sex has a systematic guarantee, which makes product innovation have a qualitative leap and efficiency improvement.

Second, lean research and development, it is imperative
1. China is in the downstream of the international industrial chain
Along with the process of globalization, the international situation has presented a new competitive situation. The era of global R&D, global manufacturing, and globalization has arrived. Competition is growing. The demands of “shortening time to market”, “increasing product technology added value”, “reducing research and development costs” and “improving product quality” have become the common voice of global manufacturing.

In China, the situation facing the manufacturing industry is even more severe. According to figures released by the State Intellectual Property Office, there are only more than 2,000 enterprises with independent intellectual property rights in China's manufacturing industry, accounting for only three-tenths of the total number of enterprises, and 99% of enterprises have not applied for patents. Therefore, some people call this phenomenon "there is no creation, no creation, no property rights, no knowledge, and a copy of life."

According to the 2005-2006 WEF global growth competitiveness ranking, China is located at 49, and the technological competitiveness is declining year by year. Our gap with the world is gradually widening.

2. China's manufacturing industry needs transformation
For a long time, China's manufacturing industry has always been synonymous with "labor-intensive" and "resource-consuming". Although the development of the manufacturing industry has driven economic development and GDP growth, it has also brought environmental problems and even ecological disasters that are difficult to manage. How to shift from labor-intensive to knowledge-intensive, how to shift from high energy consumption and high pollution to energy conservation and environmental protection is a realistic problem faced by Chinese manufacturing industry. “Energy saving and emission reduction” has been mentioned as an important special and long-term task of the country.

General Secretary Hu Jintao pointed out: "Accelerating the transformation of economic growth mode is an important focus of adhering to the scientific development concept to guide the overall situation of economic and social development and achieve rapid and sound economic and social development."

The US "Wall Street Journal" noted: "China is using its accumulated strength in the low-end manufacturing process to expand into high-tech manufacturing."

3, quality issues affect the overall situation
In 2007, the quality of “Made in China” products suffered a major blow. Since March 2007, Western media has been reporting and rendering the quality of “Made in China” products.

At the same time, China launched a large-scale product quality and food safety special rectification, Vice Premier Wu Yi of the State Council personally took the lead, teamed up with various ministries and commissions to restore the "Made in China" reputation.

Premier Wen Jiabao pointed out: "Product quality has a bearing on the vital interests of the people, the survival and development of the company, and the image of the country."

It is imperative to transform China's economic growth mode, enhance China's overall technological competition, improve the quality and gold content of "Made in China" products, and transform "Made in China" into "Created in China."

Third, the traditional manufacturing information concept is facing upgrading
The application of information technology in China's manufacturing industry has already completed the popularization and popularization in the general sense. From the scope of application, 甩图, 2D to 3D, CAD/CAE/CAM integration, PDM and ERP implementation, OA and e-commerce have been basically completed. These information technologies constitute the basic R&D platform for manufacturing.

The main role of the basic R&D platform is to rationalize the R&D management process of the enterprise, effectively improve R&D efficiency and reduce error rate. However, in terms of supporting the technological innovation of enterprises, it is still insufficient. The role of information technology solutions commonly used in basic R&D platforms:

CAD – expresses product design and improvement concepts, but does not generate design and improvement concepts.

PDM - the use of information integration brings efficiency, but can not generate design and improvement concepts.

ERP - Realizing the management of "production, supply, sales, people, finance, and materials" has nothing to do with R&D.
