Methanol to olefin plant hazard analysis and safety technology research passed acceptance

Recently, the “Hazard Analysis and Safety Technology Research of Methanol to Olefin Plant” passed the acceptance inspection organized by Sinopec Corp. The project carried out a comprehensive system risk analysis for Sinopec Zhongyuan Petrochemical Co., Ltd. 600,000 tons/year MTO device. Safety technology research, research results have important practical significance for ensuring the safe operation of MTO devices, which can eliminate or greatly reduce the adverse effects caused by unplanned parking and accidents, have considerable economic and social benefits, and build new and larger industrialization in the future. The safety of the device has important guiding significance.

The MTO process involves a large amount of flammable materials, high temperature reactions and high pressure areas. These process characteristics make the device have certain process hazards. Sinopec Corp. entrusted Qingdao Angong Institute, SEI and Sinopec Zhongyuan Petrochemical Co., Ltd. to conduct research together. The technical goal of this subject is to comprehensively analyze the dangers of MTO industrial devices, and to study the critical conditions and damage consequences of material reaction over-temperature, gas phase explosion and other hazards through experimental and theoretical methods. The safety interlocking system is graded and reliability technical evaluation is carried out, and the technical and maintenance management measures of the interlocking system are proposed. Propose specific safety protection measures, improve the safe operation procedures of the device, ensure the safe operation of the MTO device, and ensure the further promotion of the Sinopec MTO device.

At present, some of the results of the "Hazard Analysis and Safety Technology Research of Methanol to Olefin Plants" have been successfully applied to the methanol-to-olefin production unit of Sinopec Zhongyuan Petrochemical Co., Ltd. Sinopec Zhongyuan Petrochemical Co., Ltd. has a more comprehensive understanding of the overall hazard of the MTO process based on the comprehensive hazard analysis of the device, and has important guiding significance for improving the relevant control measures; based on the evaluation of the chain system, completed The safety integrity level SIL verification calculation strengthens the understanding of the interlocking system of the equipment operator; according to the research content of this project, the operator has an in-depth understanding of the explosion hazard of the materials related to the anti-re-system, and the workshop further strengthens the anti-re-system. Safety management ensures the safety of personnel and equipment; according to the recommendations of this project, the important equipment in the original design has been modified accordingly, the sampling analysis has been strengthened, and the overall safety of the equipment has been improved; Explosion hazard, corresponding safety measures have been taken to effectively reduce the gas explosion risk of the device; according to the study of butter oligomers, the difference between the unique butter oligomer and the conventional ethylene device is recognized.
